The world is consistently changing in every imaginable way. We can all agree on that. And more and more organizations and industries are focusing on energy conservation, especially given the recent climate changes. Many large (and small) organizations have been/are looking into/are using alternative sources of energy in order to “do their part” in conserving our world. It’s a beautiful thing.
I’ve recently had the opportunity to work with a corporation who specializes in multiple different areas, but I’m working with its energy division.
My favorite projects are the...

Okay… let’s have a little chat.
You’ve started a business, band, brand, whatever, so you decide you need to be on Facebook for a million OBVIOUS reasons. You set up a personal page for your brand that has the first part of the brand name as the first name, the second part as the last name. This sucks.
I happened to bring this up last week at Blog Indiana on my panel on Social Media and Craft Beer. I’m seeing more and more of this. Here’s why it sucks.
ALL brands, businesses, and the like should stop wasting their time on pages that are meant for PEOPLE. Here are a few...

I’m a mother of an 8 year-old little girl. She’s quite adorable and I’m completely in love with her, care about her well-being, and for her whole life, have also paid attention to the little things that I, myself, pay attention to when it comes to me.
Let me give you some examples…as annoying as they can be to the child:
Nail Trimming: Oh my goodness, who hasn’t seen a filthy-nailed child running around? Think of all the germs that are under those nails. Yuck. I’ve always been obsessed with trimming Bella’s nails. I’m often the only one she’ll...

So, I’m flipping through Facebook this morning and came across this photo. It can be taken so many different ways. I immediately interpret it as taking life and living it rather than analyzing it. How many of you do the latter of the two, and what part(s) of life? Personal? Business? Everything?
I was (am) going through my Twitter accounts today, and someone said something pretty funny and very kind about one of the companies I work with. I responded with a thank you and started following the person. 22 followers this person has. Not many. Not right now.
I remember when I had 22 followers. ...

I’ve been on a serious “theme” kick lately. I mean: I feel like every blog should have a steady focus or theme…at least, if it’s a business blog. And if your business covers an array of different topics that all lead to the same ending, have you ever thought of having a monthly theme?
For example, I called one of my clients the other day and gave her my theme idea. She loved it and is running with it. (Check out Get Out Mom’s blog on Fit February so you understand more in depth.) By doing this, she is able to cater her Facebook posts, Twitter posts, make hashtags, and create a buzz...

I’ll be honest.. I kinda stole this post from myself. Haha! In other words, I wrote a guest post today for Get Out Mom, which you can read here… but I also felt it needed to come here. (And so did Cami, from Get Out Mom!) So, I’m going to take some things out…or maybe I won’t. Here goes:
I’ve been in sales and marketing since I was 3 years old. That’s right. Always working toward things I believed in. I’m still the same way…only as an adult, it’s with my ghostwriting and social media business, my band, Neon Love Life and our rock n’ roll summer camp for...

It’s been a couple of weeks since my last blog, so I feel like I just need to write. I’m not really sure what about. Lately, I’ve been feeling as though I’m in some sort of maze…like I’m looking for the right balancing act in all of my responsibilities. Making it all flow well can be tricky at times.
One thing I’ve been doing over the past few weeks (and my boyfriend has also joined me) is meditating. But we’ve been doing an abundance meditation. There are many people doing this in Indy right now. Now, we’re not doing this to “get more stuff.” We’re doing this to...

I just don’t get it.
As a social media controller, manager, person…whatever you want to call me, I have passwords and logins for all of my clients’ accounts, and this includes their Twitter accounts. Once a month, I take the time to go through and unfollow inactive accounts, people who are not following, people who aren’t a good fit for my clients, etc. In essence…I “clean house.”
What blows my mind as I am doing this are the number of accounts that just….drift off. There are tweets, tweets, than suddenly… no tweets. 3 months, 9 months, 11 months go by and businesses have given...

First impressions are an interesting thing. I just started working with a new client. For full disclosure, they’re called Dating Headshots, and they specialize in first impressions…in the online dating world. I haven’t had too much experience with online dating, but I have indeed been on one and also been on a date with someone I met on one of these sites. I wrote a guest blog post for Dating Headshots called ‘My Sucky Online Dating Experience‘ a couple of months back because I found that my date was nothing like what his profile made him out to be. So, I can really see why their...

Okay, check it… it’s not that I haven’t been blogging. It’s that I’ve been blogging for other people. This is a no-no, you know, letting your own content go down stream while you’re working on everyone else’s content.
So to my readers, I apologize for my sporaticism…(yet another made up word). Here’s what’s on my mind today. I’ve been running across a million posts lately about how social media marketing is pretty much recession-proof. At least, that’s my all-in-one sentence summary.
This is good but at the same time, kinda scary. Because that means my mom, who recently...
