Decisions Lead to the “How”

Up front, this is a motivational blog (whatever that means)
I watched the movie, “The Secret” not too long ago. Has anyone out there seen this?
Actually, based on the conversations I have had in the last three weeks, I can probably name the people I believe have seen this ‘documentaryish’ film, without even asking them (and I haven’t).

Anyway, I was having a conversation yesterday with someone I look up to (in a weird, don’t really know him that well, kind of way), and he was asking me what some of my goals were. I have ALOT. I could have talked his ear off. But what I have been noticing lately, and kind of what I took from The Secret, and a good friend who is very influential in my life, is: You make a decision, and you leave the “how” to the universe, God, or whatever greater power you believe in. LIVE as though IT IS!

The older I get, the more I am beginning to realize that we have so much control over our futures. Granted, things happen and throw wrenches in our goals or we could suddenly get cut out of the equation, but for the most part, I think that the most damaging person in our lives could sometimes be ourselves. I think it’s high time people began living IN their power rather than avoiding it.

A couple months back, Hazel Walker (I LOVE this woman!) wrote an amazing blog about how accountibility breeds success. I still think of it to this day as she quotes Jim Rhon: “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” I find myself more and more wanting to be in the presence of people whom I consider successful and beautiful. I am talking inside here. People who look to help and encourage because they love it.

As we build our community, our businesses, and our lives, I want to thank everyone who has taken time out to get to know me. I hope I can be as much of an influence in your life, as you’ve been in mine.
